I ran mostly east, like yesterday afternoon: I must have made today 7 leagues and 50 portages over trees and log rafts; and we came on and spent the night at a landing where we found 6 pirogues. Here two small streams unite with this one, one from the north-northwest and the other from the southeast, making it half again bigger and twice as wide.
... The place where I am is one of the prettiest spots I have seen, fine level ground, beautiful woods, clear and bare of canes; but the whole country becomes inundated to a depth of 5 to 6 feet during high water...

Paddle in the shadows of Louisiana's indigenous tribes and French explorers. Explore Alligator Bayou or historic Bayou Manchac by canoe. We've got canoes, paddles and pfd's waiting for you, just book a time and come have fun.

Who doesn't want to sleep on the ground at the edge of 13,000 acres of swamp?! But still close to a clean bathroom with a hot shower. Reserve one of our primitive campsites or bundle multiple sites for a group adventure.

Come stay for the weekend, or the week in the Frog House (2BD/1BA). Fully equipped with everything you need for a weekend away. Kids want a more outdoorsy experience? Book the Frog House for you and one of our primitive campsites for them for a wild weekend, but not too wild.

Whats the worst thing about paddling? Logistics. We can provide shuttle service to and from multiple launches in the area or let us design a custom adventure for you.

Picnic items, bait, tackle, outdoor supplies, native plants, gifts and Louisiana made goods, come see everything we have to offer. Come by to load up for your adventure or just stop in for a coffee and a chat.
How can we help you explore Louisiana's wild beauty? Want to host an outdoor event, swamp wedding, or plan a family reunion? Reach out if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or just to say hi!
